Rose, Rose…

Hi!  Long time no see.

So, my sister Erin has been doing really well with her violin lately, and she and I recently decided to record the folk song Rose, Rose together on Garage Band.  We’re both playing from memory, and making this was so much fun!  I love playing with other people in general, but playing with my sister is super awesome.  😀  Enjoy!

Song of the Month: “Bird Song”

This song by Rosie Doonan is hauntingly beautiful, and about birds.  Automatic favorite of mine.

Lyrics:

If I were a bird, I’d whistle and sing,
I’d follow my love to the end,
On top of buildings I’d nest my heart,
And he’d wait for my bird song to start.

Lie, lie, lie my love,
Sleep well, for he’s near.
Lie, lie, lie my dear,
Sleep well, for he’s near.

He swore he’d take me in his arms,
He swore he’d buy me lovers charms;
When he returns I will build a fire
To warm our hearts and our desire.

Lie, lie, lie my dear,
Sleep well, for he’s near.
Lie, lie, lie my love,
Sleep well, for he’s near.

He loved me through the night and day,
But now his love has turned away.
Of this I’m sure, I saw it leave,
And now my heart lies down to bleed.
